Photoshoot Day at FSN! YAY!

Flower Photoshoot!

It’s photo shoot day here at FSN and we couldn’t be more EXCITED!

It only happens a few times a year and when photo shoot time comes around, we are all in great moods! They practically FILL the building with flowers for several days, bring in top-notch designers, (Regina Berryman, AIFD and Robbin Yelverton, AIFD) and we get to watch the flower-building extravaganza! Ohhh it smells SO GOOD!

Florists Working Hard

So, just what is the photo shoot all about? Our designers are creating NEW arrangements, not only for our website, but also for our florist friends using FSN websites. It’s all about keepin’ it fresh! (pun intended)

Florist Design Area

As the day continues, it is wonderful to see all of the brand new designs come alive. Now, it will be a while before the new images show up on the websites. It takes a lot of editing from our graphics team to get them truly perfect. I just wanted to share with you guys the excitement going on at FSN headquarters today!

Kier is excited, you should be too!

I mean, just look how excited Kier is! He’s practically overcome with joy, and he’s a programmer!

Until the new arrangements are up, check out our already-outstanding flower gallery full of incredible designs just waiting to be delivered to your someone special!

Congratulations MRS. Tracy From Everyone At FSN!

For those of you who have been following FSN for a while, you know we love to party!! Our fantastic receptionist, Tracy, got married on January 2nd, and we just had to surprise her with what we do best — FOOD! And boy was there a lot of it!

Tracy's Wedding Food

Check out that yummy spread! We picked bright, fun colors for the decorations, and much to our surprise, purple and green are her favorites! The green punch might remind you of Shrek, but I promise it’s to die for!

So once again, CONGRATULATIONS TRACY from all of us here at Flower Shop Network!

FLOWER FUN AND FLORAL TRENDS

Matching Corsage To Prom Dress
(April) The hottest trend in prom fashion, wild and crazy corsages that show off the teen’s fun and funky dresses. Check out great prom corsage pics along with the dress they go with from a REAL high school prom. (Good ideas for next year moms & teens!) Probably my favorite post of last year, definitely a must see!

Matching Your Prom Dress To Your Corsage

Design Inspiration Challenge
(September) We had SO MUCH FUN this summer with our Design Inspiration Challenge. How it worked: we selected an ‘inspiration’ or brilliant photo of art, architecture, butterflies… all sorts of things, and florists created an amazing flower arrangement ‘inspired’ by each photo. We got some very interesting submissions! Check them ALL out in this post, including our winner!

Floral Pocket Squares Trend
(October) This was a fun post because many people have never heard of a floral pocket square or how they are used. We made several designs in our studio to share with you. Floral pocket squares make perfect accessories to grooms who just can’t do boutonnieres.

Trend Alert: Sushi Flowers
(September) For those who know me, know I had to choose this as a favorite. I love sushi! When I saw the sushi designs from this summer’s floral conventions, I couldn’t help but create this post!

BEST HOLIDAY POSTS

The Romance of Flowers (Valentines Day)
(February) Sure, the title may sound a little cheesy, but this loaded with GREAT info on romantic flowers.. and not just roses! This article will guide you through selecting flowers for your honey based on [Read more…]

Big Thank You To ‘Because You’re Special’ in Indianapolis

Because You're Special

Yummy Gifts From Because You’re Special

We had to give a shout out to Because You’re Special, an Indianapolis florist and FSN member, for sending us all of these delicious goodies! They were actually sent to our Order Transfer department to acknowledge their hard work throughout the Christmas rush. Thanks so very much, guys! We will put them to good use!

Celebrating the Holidays At FSN

It’s no secret, Christmas is our favorite holiday here at Flower Shop Network. We can hardly wait to take down our Thanksgiving decor and trade it in for Christmas trees and holiday lights. It could be because we are spoiled with a delicious, catered lunch, or the dozens of presents (mostly ridiculously silly, gag gifts, but those are the best, hah!) under the 5 trees! So, here’s a little tour of what we’ve got going on this year:

Arkansas & FSN Go Pink For The Cure

FSN Pink For Breast Cancer

Go Pink For The Cure

Today Flower Shop Network participated in Arkansas’ first ever Go Pink For The Cure Day. In September, Governor Mike Beebe declared October 1st to be Go Pink For The Cure Day to raise awareness for the prevention and treatment of breast cancer. He urged all citizens to ‘go pink‘ to raise awareness in their business, school, religious or social group. This day will surly do great things for creating awareness of the importance of mammography and remove barriers that prevent women from seeking mammograms.

They asked us to go pink and that is just what we did! At FSN, we have been personally affected by the horrible disease. Not only do many of us have friends and family members who have succumbed to breast cancer, but one of our very own teammates fell victim not long ago. However, not all stories here are sad, we have 2 PROUD survivors!

1 in 8 women will be stricken with breast cancer in her lifetime. Until there is a cure, breast cancer awareness and early detection is the key. With early detection, we all win!

For every person who participates in Go Pink For The Cure Day, Gov. Mike Beebe asks for a donation of $5 to the Susan G. Komen For The Cure foundation. We did our part, now it’s time for you to do yours!

Our local news station really promoted this event and even created a contest to get more people involved. They asked businesses to send in their pictures of their pink employees and have updated the photos throughout the day. We have really enjoyed seeing all of the local business’ going pink and thought you would too. Check out FSN in the news!

Just One More Day

I know everyone is excited to find out who the overall winner of the Summer Design Challenge is, but you will have to wait one more day.

Our design challenge coordinator (Mandy Maxwell) is out of the office. Since she worked so hard on the challenge (coming up with fantastic inspirational photos), we couldn’t make the announcement without her.

So sleep tight tonight and look for the announcement tomorrow.

A Very Merry FSN Christmas!

If you’ve followed FSN on Twitter or Facebook you should know one thing – the people of Flower Shop Network like to PARTY!

Maybe it’s one of our 5 trees, and 40 different stockings? Or it could just be the giant disco ball we have over all the offices? Whatever it is, I am glad this is my work home. It really feels like a family here and I think that’s why I love it so much! The Christmas lights all throughout the building give the entire atmosphere a festive glow you can only find during the holidays, and if I can’t be at home I am really glad I am here. I’m sure you will see it to when you take a look at these photos!

Our Condolences For The Sad Passing Of A Wonderful Florist

Apple Blossom Florist, a flower shop in Winter Haven Florida, was recently struck with a personal loss. The founder of Apple Blossom, Pat Fisher, passed away this week. Flower Shop Network wishes to extend our deepest and most sincere condolences to Mrs. Fisher’s family, friends, and coworkers as we strive to honor the memory of this wonderful woman.
