Florists are Planning to Spread Smiles Nationwide!

“Paying it forward” is a movement that has swept across the United States. Receiving something unexpected brings smiles, joy and sometimes even tears. This year local florists are taking part in the movement to spread happiness nationwide.

The Society of American Florists organized a campaign called, “Petal It Forward.” On October 19th participating florists will present two flower bouquets each to people throughout the city. Recipients are then asked to give one of their bouquets away to someone special in their life, or a stranger in need of a smile.

Last year there were more than 40 Petal It Forward events across the country! 

The campaign was a huge success and warmed many hearts. Watch this video that highlights last year’s Petal It Forward event in New York City. 

People are encouraged to share how they Petaled It Forward by posting a picture using the hashtag #PetalItForward and tagging SAF’s Instagram, @About_Flowers or Twitter, @FlowerFactor.
