Go Ahead, Make Her Day — Send Flowers!

“Go ahead… make her day.”

We’ve all seen the famous line from Clint Eastwood in Sudden Impact, and probably quoted it a few dozen times. While not the same situation, it’s true that one small action can change the course of someone’s day immediately. Just by giving a nice complement, a little extra affection, or best of all, sending flowers, you can quite literally make her day, or even week!

Now, I know what you’re thinking… “Flowers THIS close to Valentine’s Day??” Well, yes! That’s the beauty of it all; doing something completely unexpected and out of the blue.

Orange Rose ArrangementTurn Up the Romance!

If you really want to be a hero, turn up the romance! Send radiant red roses, hot-pink gerberas or milky-white lilies. These are very popular in floral designs for romantic occasions. Talk to your local florist and let them create something as unique as your sweetheart.

Don’t forget the presentation. Have the flowers delivered to your darling at the office for all to see. She will be ecstatic and the envy of all the office. You could also go pick them up yourself and have them waiting for her, with a romantic dinner, when she comes home. Pull out all the stops and make her day, even before Valentines Day.. Just to do it all again soon, but isn’t she worth it!

“Pinks, peaches, creams, and a little white~ make a pretty bridesmaid bouquet with a fabulous mix of textures.

I’m working this year to have brides give me a little flexibility in flowers, so I can work in product that is on the market during the week of the wedding. This bouquet had cone leucodendron, lilac, button feverfew, and a new color of stock~ all of which I couldn’t have known would be there, when meeting with them months prior.”

Help! My Peace Lily is Suffering

Ask The Plant Expert:

“I just recently figured out what kind of plant I have; it’s a peace lily. My roommate left it behind when he moved and didn’t give any information. My peace lily has tons of brown and dead leaves. I know that pruning the dead blooms, you cut the stalk at the base of the plant because it will only bloom once. My question is, does the same rule apply to the leaves of the plant? Do I trim the entire stalk or just the dead leaf and if I leave the stalk will it sprout more leaves or just die?”-Amanda

Every Person Has A Story, Let Us Tell Yours With Flowers

What’s your story? What are the biggest accomplishments in your life? You don’t have to be an astronaut to have a great story. It could be your faithful devotion to gardening, crafts or family. It could be your love of hobbies like scrapbooking, reading or climbing mountains. What story do you want to tell?

High StyleIf you’re having friends over, throwing a party, or just want a little pick-me-up for yourself, why not let your florist to tell the story through flowers? Most floral designers are very creative and would love the challenge of interpreting your story through color, flowers and accessories.

These custom arrangements don’t have to be over-the-top or huge, but the subtle, creative ways flowers are arranged can tell more of a story than you might expect.

Here are some examples:

Yoga Guru – A yoga teacher wants to have a very special class with her students. She asks her florist to create something to tell the story of yoga through flowers. The florist creates something like the arrangement to the right. The bamboo-like Equisetum adds an Eastern quality to this arrangement and the way it’s standing tall and used bent reminds viewers of the flexing yoga poses.
