October 16 is the day to thank a great boss!  Bosses Day, also know as Boss’s Day or National Boss Day, is a national holiday in celebration of a boss who has been kind and fair throughout the year.  One of the key factors in job satisfaction is having a first-rate boss.  If your boss has done an outstanding job October 16 is the day to show your appreciation!
In 1958 Bosses Day began when Patricia Bays Haroski wanted to say thank-you to her wonderful boss, who just so happened to be her father.  She chose October 16, his birthday, to give him a gift and say thank-you for doing such a fine job.  Today, employees in many countries treat their bosses to lunch, giving thank-you cards, or send flowers.  



Flowers are a wonderful way to show your appreciation and brighten your boss’ office.  Send an “Orange You Special” arrangement to bring some of October’s famous fall foliage to her desk, or something designed around her favorite flower.  Plants are also a great way to liven up a male boss’ office! Bringing in something living, especially if it is a gift, can brighten any space and bring a smile to the face of someone who has treated you well!  Florists can also incorporate candy, cards, or gift certificates to a fabulous dinner.  By choosing flowers, you can capture how much you truly appreciate your amazing boss!
